MANDALUYONG CITY — Good news! The City Government of Mandaluyong recently received vehicles from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The two additional 17-seater vans were incentives to the city government for bagging the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for the seventh time.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos led the turnover ceremony to Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos. DILG-NCR Director Maria Lourdes Agustin and city officials also witnessed the event.

According to the city government, the additional vehicles will be distributed to their Cultural Affairs and Tourism Department. The department is mandated to implement and monitor the city’s Tourism Development and Sisterhood Cities program.

The Seal of Good Local Governance is a progressive assessment system that distinguishes remarkable local government performance across several areas. The recognition puts primacy on integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
