DOST REGION 1 DRIVES TRANSFORMATIVE ACTION AND COLLABORATION DOST-SEI’S STAR TWINNING PROJECT
At the heart of its mission, the Department of Science and Technology Region 1 (DOST Region 1) once again proved that collaboration leads to transformative action, as Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog, DOST Region 1 Director, graced the opening of the Twinning Project Camp of the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) through the Science Teachers Academy for the Regions (STAR), in
collaboration with Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) and Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC).
In her opening message, Dr. Tabaog highlighted how educators, particularly teachers, play a key role in bridging gaps in comprehension toward building an inclusive, resilient, and science-driven nation. She further emphasized that the academic partnership forged between DOST-SEI, ISPSC, and MMSU will drive innovation and strengthen institutions by empowering and equipping teachers, especially those in science and mathematics.
The DOST-SEI, through the STAR Twinning Project, aims to support the professional growth of science and mathematics faculty members of selected Teacher Education Institutes through a three-year program consisting of capacity-building activities in instruction, research, and extension services.
As DOST Region 1 commits to hold the importance of collaboration and transformative action for the benefit of the people, it continues to support partnerships that drive innovation, empower educators, and build a science-driven future.
