DOST LAUNCHES 21ST CENTURY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT MODEL CLASSROOM AT QUEZON SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL

TAYABAS CITY, QUEZON — A new era in innovative education has officially begun as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Quezon Science High School inaugurated the 21st Century Learning Environment Model (CLEM) Classroom, bringing future-ready education closer to learners and the community.

This milestone marks the 23rd CLEM Classroom nationwide and the 13th in the CALABARZON Region, underscoring DOST’s commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation in education across the province and beyond.

The CLEM Classroom is designed to support technology-enabled, collaborative, and learner-centered instruction. It provides a dynamic space where students can develop essential 21st-century skills: critical thinking, creativity, communication, problem-solving, digital literacy, and scientific inquiry — competencies vital for higher education, future careers, and lifelong learning.

For students, this means more interactive and engaging learning experiences that connect classroom lessons to real-world applications. For teachers, it encourages innovative teaching strategies and the purposeful use of technology, transforming how knowledge is shared and absorbed.

What makes this initiative truly transformative is its vision to reach even further. CLEM plans to expand its partnerships beyond schools to include Local
Government Units (LGUs), public libraries, and community learning centers. This broader collaboration aims to extend access to digital resources, research
opportunities, and information literacy programs — making quality education a shared responsibility and a community-wide goal.

With 23 classrooms established across the country and counting, the CLEM program is more than just infrastructure. It represents a growing movement toward inclusive, innovative, and accessible learning environments. By equipping Filipino learners with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in a digital world, DOST and its partners are not just building better classrooms — they are building a brighter, more capable future for every Filipino student.

Ultimately, the impact of CLEM goes beyond classroom infrastructure. Its greater promise lies in empowering learners, supporting educators, and fostering stronger community partnerships.
