CLIMATE CHANGE TASK FORCE SPECIAL COMMAND GROUPSCONDUCT SUCCESSFUL FIRST AID, CPR AND RAPPELLING TRAINING
GUIGUINTO, BULACAN – July 11, 2026 – The Climate Change Task Force Special Command Groups (CCTF SCG) has successfully concluded a comprehensive emergency response and technical rescue training program yesterday, July 10, at the Bauertek Farmaceutical Technologies, equipping personnel with life-saving skills and safety standards critical to climate action and field deployment operations.
The activity was led by Richard Nixon C. Gomez, Senior Deputy Commandant and Commanding Officer of CCTF SCG, alongside CCTF SCG deputy commanders: William Chua (Special Projects) and Donato Estocada (Internal Affairs).Training was facilitated by the Zion Emergency and Disaster Rescue Unit,
headed by Ryan Apduhan.
Leading the training implementation and participant contingent were officers of the CCTF STEP Command, namely:

Designed to boost operational readiness for disaster response and climate-related field missions, the training covered three core modules: Basic First Aid and CPR, Basic Ropemanship, and an introduction to Actual Rappelling Operations. The session combined theoretical discussions, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice to ensure full mastery of essential competencies.
Module 1 focused on Basic First Aid and CPR, covering emergency care principles, scene safety, patient assessment, and immediate management of injuries, fractures, shock, and heat-related conditions. It also included full training on the Chain of Survival, adult CPR procedures, and proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).
The second module, Basic Ropemanship, covered rescue rope specifications, maintenance, and practical application of standard knots including Figure Eight, Figure Eight Follow Through, Figure Eight on a Bight, Bowline, Clove Hitch, Water Knot, and Double Fisherman’s Knot – all vital for secure rigging and high- angle rescue operations.
Module 3 provided an overview of Actual Rappelling Operations, including equipment inspection, proper use of harnesses, helmets, carabiners, descenders, and anchor systems, plus step-by-step execution of controlled descent protocols.
Participants brought personal protective gear including helmets, harnesses, and gloves, while CCTF SCG and Bauertek Farmaceutical Technologies provided technical equipment and training materials for the session.
