NELSON S. SANTOS APPOINTED CHAIRMAN AND DIRECTOR FOR MEDIA AFFAIRS OF PAPI

MANILA — The Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) proudly announces the appointment of Nelson S. Santos as its new Chairman and Director for Media Affairs.

Mr. Santos brings with him a decade of proven leadership and dedication to the media industry, having served as PAPI President for three consecutive terms from 2015 to 2025 His appointment marks a new chapter for the organization as it strengthens its commitment to press freedom, responsible journalism, and proactive engagement with both public and private sectors.

    As Chairman and Director for Media Affairs, Mr. Santos will lead PAPI’s strategic communication initiatives, oversee national media relations, and serve as the principal spokesperson on matters of public interest. He will also play a key role in guiding the organization’s advocacy efforts, media partnerships, and nationwide programs supporting community newspapers and local journalists.

    PAPI President Rebecca Madeja-Velásquez expressed full confidence in Mr. Santos’s continued leadership, stating, “His deep understanding of the media landscape and unwavering service to the association make him the ideal choice for these important roles. We look forward to his guidance as we move toward a more united and impactful press community.”

    With Mr. Santos at the helm of media affairs, PAPI reaffirms its mission to promote ethical journalism and support the development of a vibrant and independent press across the Philippines.
